Beach life is the way to go, people!!
After a delicious breakfast at ‘Lazy Susan Cafe’, we headed for a stroll on the beach, where we spent the next 2 hours walking, enjoying the freedom, the sun, the breeze and the scenery! A great start of a day, if you ask me!!
We spent the rest of the day wondering along Hemlock street (did I mention that this city only has 1 street??), checking out art galleries, candy stores, shoe stores (really?!!), and grocery stores where you can buy beer and wine! Yes, we Canadians don’t have this luxury in our igloo-filled country… It’s great to be able to one-stop shop!! Got some beer from Hawaii (really?!!), and some wine from Oregon (not kidding! A pinot noir, called ‘A to Z’, from Newberg, Oregon. Wine Spectator apparently gave it a 90 pt rating… Worth trying.). We’ll let the wine cellar in the trunk of the car for a couple of days. I think that’s the way wines are best enjoyed, but I’m no sommelier…
Oh, and I ate my first ‘Elephant Ear’ ever! Easy, you WWF people: Not a real elephant ear!! For those of you who – like me – are not familiar with this delicacy, I have 2 words: Fried Dough… That’s what it is, covered with a copious amount of sugar… It actually tastes better than it sounds! Let’s now talk about obesity in the USA… Just kidding!!
After 3 difficult hours of digestion, we managed to get up again, just in time to see the sun set…
